This is a recipe for a rough snow scene for a 18cm square, or a 20cm round almond iced cake. If you would prefer fondant icing then pick up some ready made icing in store at Scoopaway.

Scoopaway and the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Product Directive (THMPD)

The changes in the law regarding the sales of herbal medicines came  into effect on 1st May 2011.

The law was passed to ensure that herbal medicines being sold have a license, making them ‘safer’ for the consumer.  So since the 1stof May 2011 it is now illegal to place herbal medicines onto the market without a license granted from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).  (more…)

Milking It!

A short feature on milks not normally found in supermarkets:

Goat’s Milk – “One of the most unusual things about Goats is that they don’t have to produce kids every year to stay in milk”, says Ros Earthy of the British Goat Society. “Some will go on milking for 3 or even 4 years after a kid, often giving a gallon or more of milk a day. If it is properly chilled, there is not any strong difference between goat’s milk and cow’s”. There are however some health imperatives for making the switch.
